Manganum aceticum.
Mind and Disposition.
Out of humor, low spirited and reflective.
Bitterness and long rancor.
Head.
Heaviness of the head, with the sensation as if it had become larger.
Burning, pressing headache, better in the open air.
[5] Tension and stinging in the head in
the open air, better in the room.
Congestion of blood to the head, as if the brain were to suppurate,
better in the open air.
Sensation as if from concussion of the brain when moving.
Pressing, boring headache in the temples, extending towards the eyes and
the forehead, going off on bending forward, but returning on sitting up,
or on bending the head backward.
Stitches (like needles) and darts in the left side of the forehead.
Eyes.
[10] Pressing in the eyes on using them
and from candle-light.
Burning heat and dryness of the eyes.
Eyelids swollen and painful to the touch.
Agglutination of the eyes in the morning.
Short-sightedness.
[15] Dim-sightedness with burning in
the eyes.
Ears.
Otalgia.
Pains extend to and concentrate in the ear from other parts.
Stitches in the cat when talking, swallowing, laughing and walking.
Hardness of bearing (deafness) as if the ears were closed up ; they
open on blowing the nose, and are affected by the change of the weather.
[20] Cracking in the ears on blowing
the nose, on swallowing.
Whizzing and rushing in the ear.
Nose.
Violent dry coryza, with obstruction of the nose and no passage of air
through it.
Painful crampy tearing between the root of the nose and the eyebrow.
Face.
Face pale, sunken.
[25] Twitching stitches from the lower
jaw to the temples, when laughing.
Drawing cramp in the muscles in the region of the left mastoid process,
so that he had to incline his head to the right side.
Clear vesicles on the upper lip.
Dry, parched lips with shrivelled skin, without thirst.
Eruptions and ulcers at the corners of the mouth.
[30] Cramp pain in the upper and lower
jaw after eating.
Mouth and Throat.
Violent toothache suddenly going from one place to another.
Smarting toothache, made insupportable when anything cold touches the
tooth.
Smell from the mouth as if of clay or earth (early in the morning after
rising).
Burning vesicles on the (left side of the) tongue.
[35] Nodosities on the tongue.
Cutting soreness in the throat between the acts of deglutition.
When swallowing, dull stitches on both sides of the larynx, extending to
the ear.
Dryness and scratching of the throat, with the sensation as if a leaf
were closing up the trachea.
Chronic sore throat.
[40] Dryness of the palate and lips.
Stomach and Abdomen.
Oily taste in the mouth.
Thirstlessness.
Aversion to food from a sensation of satiety.
Rising from the stomach like heartburn.
[45] Burning in the stomach rising up
to the chest ; sometimes with great restlessness.
Drawing in the region of the stomach with the sensation as if the pit of
the stomach were enlarged, with nausea.
Pressure in the hypochondria.
Abdomen distended, bloated.
Pressing soreness in the upper part of the abdomen and in the pit of the
stomach.
[50] Warm contraction extending from
the middle of the abdomen to the chest, with nausea.
Cutting in the region of the navel, when taking a long inspiration.
When walking, sensation as if the bowels were loose and shaking about.
Profuse secretion of flatulence.
Stool and Anus.
Constipation, stool rare, dry, difficult, knotty.
[55] Yellow, granular stool with
tenesmus and constriction of the anus.
Loose and tenacious stools.
Contractive pain in the rectum when sitting.
Urinary Organs.
Frequent desire to urinate.
Sediment in the urine violet, earthy.
[60] Darting in the urethra when
emitting flatus.
Cutting in the middle of the urethra between the acts of micturition.
Sexual Organs.
Men. Sensation of weakness in the
sexual organs, with burning and drawing in the spermatic cords,
extending to the glans penis.
Itching on the corona glandis.
Stitches in the prepuce.
[65] Itching in the interior of the
scrotum, which cannot be relieved by pinching and rubbing.
Women. Menstrual discharge between the
periods.
Menses too early and too scanty.
Pressure in the genital organs.
Respiratory Organs.
Roughness of speech early in the morning.
[70] Roughness and hoarseness in the
morning and in the open air.
Cough and hoarseness.
Dry cough brought on by loud reading and talking, with painful dryness,
roughness and constriction of the larynx. (Bronchitis).
In the morning, expectoration of yellowish-green lumps of mucus without
cough.
Bloody expectoration from the chest.
[75] Bruised pain in the chest.
Bruised pain in the upper chest when stooping, relieved by raising the
head.
Breath hot and burning with disagreeable heat in the chest.
Stitches in the chest and sternum, running up and down.
Beating in the chest.
[80] Sudden shocks at the heart and in
the left side of the chest from above downwards.
Back and Neck.
Pain in the small of the back on bending backwards.
Tearing in the whole spinal column, from above downwards.
Stiffness of the nape of the neck.
Red, swollen streak on the left side of the neck.
Extremities.
[85] Upper.
Pain as from a sprain in the shoulder-joint.
Rheumatic pains extending from the shoulders to the fingers.
Sensation of tension in the arm and carpal-joints.
Gnawing and boring in the humerus, as if in the marrow of the bone.
Tension in the elbow-joint as if too short.
[90] Rhagades in the bends of the
fingers.
Sensation of tension in the hands.
Lower. Twitching of the muscles in the
legs from the least exertion.
Tension, drawing, stitches in the thigh.
Tension and stiffness in the legs.
[95] Tearing in the knees.
Trembling and unsteadiness of the knees.
Inflammation and swelling of the ankle, with stitches extending to the
lower leg.
Burning of the soles of the feet.
Sore rawness between the toes.
Generalities.
[100] Rheumatic affections, generally
in the limbs, and mostly in the joints, with red, shining swelling.
Drawing and tension in the limbs as from shortening of the tendons,
especially on extending (stretching) them.
Inflammatory swellings and suppurations.
Weakness and trembling, especially of the joints.
Inflammation of the bones, with nightly, insupportable pains.
[105] Every part of the body feels
extremely sore when touched.
Sleep.
Much yawning.
Feels sleepy early in the evening.
Vivid, anxious dreams, which are well remembered.
Fever.
Pulse very uneven and irregular, sometimes rapid, sometimes slow, but
constantly soft and weak.
[110] Chilliness, generally in the
evening, with icy cold hands and feet.
Chill with heat of the head and stinging pain in the forehead which
continues after the chill.
Sudden flushes of heat in the face, on the chest, and over the back.
Profuse perspiration with short anxious breathing.
Night-sweats, itching, often only on the neck and on the lower legs.
Skin.
[115] Inflammation of the bones, with
insupportable digging pains at night.
Burning over the whole body ; in the evening when rising from the
bed.
Itching herpes.
The skin will not heal.
Rhagades in the bends of the joints, with soreness.
[120] Inflammatory swellings and
suppuration.
Conditions.
Most symptoms appear at night.
The symptoms which appear while in the room, disappear in the open air,
and vice versa.
Many complaints change for the better or worse with the change of the
weather.
Aggravation on stooping.
[125] When touched ever so little, the
parts feel intensely sore.
