Both Saturday and Sunday lectures will be on
understanding the plant families through the sensations. We will
differentiate between the plant and other kingdoms and offer an explanation
of the different miasms.
Video cases will illustrate the latest case taking
techniques developed by dr. Rajan Sankaran and applied by the Bombay group
of homeopaths. These techniques are based on dr. Sankaran’s concept of the
Vital Sensation and the seven Levels.
In the last few decades, this outstanding homeopath had
already brought depth to homeopathy by elaborating on the principle that all
symptoms of the mental, emotional and physical level can be explained from
the viewpoint of the central delusion, providing every remedy with a soul
and spirit.
When observing his patients, dr. Sankaran had also
noticed that certain hand gestures accompany emotional, physiological and
delusional symptoms and thus must be indicative of a deeper level, which he
calls the sensation level. This sensation is common to both mind and body
and an expression of a specific energy pattern. When interrogating about
these gestures and the underlying sensation, it became clear that his
sensation is universal, immaterial and non-human specific, which means that
it is shared by humans and other substances in the universe alike. Its
nature points clearly the way to the precise kingdom, family and ultimately
the exact remedy and potency.
This new understanding allows homeopathic prescriptions
to be amazingly accurate. If put into practice as demonstrated on this
seminar by dr Nandita Shah, it will launch homeopathy into a new era.

Subcomite Proving, summary of
the Report of the meeting in Graz, April 25, 2003.
1° The most recent Etna Lava proving in Italy
is a confirmation of the first Etna Lava proving. Although the samples
where taken from different eruptions is the composition identical.
2° A first draft of the booklet on provings
(guidelines for methodology, protocol….) will elaborated. This booklet
will provide guidelines to have a standard in provings and to make them
reproducable (confirmation). It should make provings accessable and more
acceptable to the outer official scientific world.
3° All “unconventional provings”, e.g.
dream provings, meditation provings, seminar provings…., are
interesting for the inner homeopathic world and could be some
confirmation of “conventional” proving symptoms.
4° Discussion about using blinding and randomisation
in homeopathic drug provings.
5° The elaboration of the list of the remedies which
have to be proved first is still going on.
6° Verification of proving symptoms in a systematic
way is very necessary (with E.C.H. subcommittee Research). This will
also be the first topic of the LIGA congress 2008 about “Clinical
Verification. Present status of the project Compendium Homeopaticum
Internationale.
7° Archibel will provide a computer site for proving
data collection. J. Sherr and representants of different important
countries promised to collaborate. The minimum information for the
database has been discussed: which information is compulsary and which
is additional.
8° The present status of progress of the
International Homeopathic Proving.
9° Discussuion about the integretion of homeopathic
provings in the teaching methodology in the medical homeopathic schools.
Provings
and doing provings is very important for the future of the homeopathy.
At the LIGA Congress 2003 in Graz several provings were presented as
therer are: Bungarus, Calcarea muriaticum, Etna lava, Hura Brasiliensis,
Leontopodium alpinum, some plants of the family of the Rosaceae
(Agrimonia Eupatoria, Pyrus communis and Rosa Canina) and Taxus bacata.

Clinical verification
of homeopathic symptoms has been attached to the Data collection project
CLIFICOL. This question is fundamental for data collection in the daily
practice. Cured cases and treatment failures are even important to
strengthen or question the relation between symptoms and remedies. All
clinical researchers must be concerned with this topic. Comparison of
the frequency (or intensity) of a symptom from proving and from daily
practice is a key. It will allow more accuracy of the materia medica and
repertories.

in last newsletter) is interesting to mention

Wassenhoven. Clinical Research:
The
nomination of experts at the Research Directorate General of the
European Commission, has been achieved: 11 experts have been nominated.
The latest news is that the list of disciplines an applicant expert can
choose from is about to include non-conventional medicine as well. It is
important to co-ordinate homeopathic research proposals if we want
homeopathic research to be included into the 6th European RTD framework
programme of the European Commission. The eternal problem of funds
emerges. An additional obstacle could be the fact that experts should
work for one or two weeks at a stretch at the European Commission and
therefore pause in their own usual work.

and interesting to note that UK is well into integrating Homeopathy
Teaching
in Primary Care (Liverpool is an example)
In
Spain: Sevilla University is very active and at the moment and has even
German doctors taking courses.
In
France homeopaths are worried that ECH might impose all sorts of
regulations and standards: this of course is not the case.

A
lot of Italian schools are involved in provings.
An
important proving on Etna lava is at the moment in process.
In
Spain an interesting proving is being undertaken on Helix aspera (a
snail). At the moment there are four points (Köthen, Stuttgart,
Brussels and Glasgow) where info about provings is collected. Necessity
to have a provings database in Europe.
Necessity
for the moment to concentrate the information in the four libraries.
A
booklet explaining how to do a proving in accordance with homeopathic
principles as well a ICH-Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice and SOP
(Standard Operating Procedures) is needed. A group of 10 people are
working on an inventory of remedies that have not yet been proven. It is
necessary to define the rules of what is a good proving correctly,
before the ethical committee can be functional.
• Conclusion: first methodology, then ethical
committee.
