VERTIGO.
Q. : When is Conium indicated in vertigo ?
A. :
When due to
cerebral anaemia ; numb feeling in brain, as if stupefied ; worse turning
over in bed.Q. : What is there characteristic about the vertigo of Ferrum ?
A. :
It comes on, on
going down hill, or on crossing water, even though the water is smooth.Q. : Give vertigo of Theridion.
A. :
Worse when
closing eyes, and it is greatly aggravated by noise.Q. : What other remedies have vertigo worse when closing eyes ?
A. :
Lachesis and
Moschus.
Q. : What is the vertigo of Causticum ?
A. :
It is that
occurring in the incipiency of paralysis ; there is a tendency to fall
forwards or sideways, and the sight is bedimmed.Q. : When is Rhus toxicodendron indicated ?
A. :
In the vertigo
of old people, which comes on when the patient rises from a sitting
posture with heavy feeling in the limbs.Q. : What is the vertigo of Digitalis ?
A. :
Of cardiac
origin, the blood supply to brain being deficient.There is palpitation, breathlessness, feeble pulse, and a tendency to
syncope.VOMITING.
Q. : When is Aethusa cynapium indicated in vomiting ?
A. :
Vomiting in
children of large and sometimes green curds of milk, followed
by great exhaustion ;
there is a drawn
look about the mouth suggestive of nausea.It may also be found useful in thin, yellow-green diarrhoea, preceded
by cramps.Gastro-intestinal catarrh.
Q. : What is the vomiting of Antimonium crudum ?
A. :
Vomiting from
an overloaded stomach ; from indigestible substances or rich, fat food ;
it comes on as soon as child eats or drinks ; the vomited matters contain
food or curdled milk.Q. : When is Apomorphia useful in vomiting ?
A. :
When it is
reflex from brain ; vomiting of cerebral origin.In the vomiting of pregnancy it has achieved some success in the

th trituration.Q. : What other drugs have vomiting of cerebral origin ?
A. :
Belladonna.
, Glonoine and Rhus.
Q. : What drug has the symptom that as soon as water becomes warm in
the stomach it is vomited ?A. :
Phosphorus.
Q. : What is the vomiting of Bismuth ?
A. :
It comes on
immediately after eating, with great pain.Q. : What drug has vomiting of food three or four hours after eating ?
A. :
Kreosote.
Q. : Mention a drug having vomiting of milk as soon as taken.
A. :
Calcarea
carbonica.
Q. : When should Ipecac be given ?
A. :
When there is
intense nausea ; vomiting comes on after eating.Nausea is even more characteristic than vomiting.
Q. : Give indications for Nux vomica.
A. :
Nausea and
vomiting after a debauch ; everything eaten is vomited at once.
