Clematis erecta.

Mind and Disposition.

Low-spirited and fear of approaching misfortunes.
Aversion to talk.
Fear of being alone, but disinclined to meet otherwise agreeable
company.
Memory impaired.

Head.

[5] Giddiness, if he lift his head up,
or when moving the head.
Boring pains in the temple.
Head feels full and heavy, hanging down.
Heaviness in the forehead.
Headache, aggravated by bending the head backwards.
[10] Eruptions on the back part of the
head and neck ; moist, sore, tingling and stinging itching ;
often drying up in scales ; when getting warm in bed, violently
itching ; only temporarily relieved by scratching ; with
soreness only rawness.
Itching on the hairy scalp.

Eyes.

Itching in the canthi.
Burning of the eyelids.
Burning and heat in the eyes, with dryness, as if fire were streaming
from the eyes.
[15] Redness biting and lachrymation
from the eyes.
Inflammation of the iris.
The white of the eyes has a yellow tint.
The closed eye is very sensitive to the air (cold air), and when it is
opened very sensitive to light.
While writing, the letters momentarily run one into another ; at
times, double vision, with flickering before the eyes.

Ears.

[20] Ringing, as from bells in the ear.
The external ear is hot and burns.

Nose.

Dryness of the nose, with heat.
Violent coryza, with sneezing ; the secretion is streaked with
blood.

Face.

Sickly paleness of the face.
[25] Cheeks red and hot (momentary
flushes).
White blisters on the nose and face, as if burned by the sun.
Moist eruption on the face, preceded by stinging pain.
Cancer of the lips.

Mouth and Throat.

Pricking or drawing toothache ; worse, and becoming in
insupportable at night, in a horizontal position.
[30] Toothache in a decayed molar
tooth, much aggravated from a crumb of bread coming into it ;
relieved by cold water.
Sensation as if the decayed tooth were too long ; the least contact
is exceedingly painful, with an excessive flow of saliva.
Aggravation of the toothache by smoking
tobacco.
Increased secretion of saliva.
Small blisters on the tongue and in the throat, which soon become
ulcers.
[35] Heat and burning in the mouth and
throat.
Sensation of roughness in the throat.

Appetite and Taste.

Aversion to beer.
Increased thirst, with desire for ice.
After eating, nausea and sleepiness.

Stomach and Abdomen.

[40] Nausea after smoking tobacco.
Disagreeable sensation of coldness in the stomach.
Tension of the stomach.
Pain in the liver, aggravated by pressure.
Stitches in the liver.
[45] Sensation of constriction in the
lower abdomen, which is hard.
Swelling, induration and twitching pains in the inguinal glands.

Stool and Anus.

Hard stool, difficult to discharge (in the evening).
Loose stools, with burning at the anus.
Burning heat, and itching at the anus (in the evening) ; better
after an evacuation.
[50] Hæmorrhoids, itching, discharging
some mucus.

Urinary Organs.

Increased secretion of urine.
Urine turbid, milky, dark, with flakes of mucus and frothy.
Secretion diminished ; the last drops cause violent burning.
Secretion slow and in a small stream.
[55] During micturition, burning in the
urethra ; stitches in the urethra ; stitches from the abdomen
into the chest.
After micturition, itching, tingling in the urethra, lasting half an
hour ; burning in the urethra ; involuntary dripping of urine.
The urethra is painful to pressure.
Spasmodic stricture of the urethra.
Discharge from the urethra, thick, pus.

Genitals.

[60] Men.
Itching at the genitals.
Drawing pain from the testicles into the spermatic cords upwards ;
the right testicle is drawn up.
Sensation of soreness of the testes.
Violent, long-continuing erections, with stitches in the urethra.
Painful swelling and induration of the testes (right).
[65] Scrotum swelled, indurated.
Women. Swelling and induration of the
mammary glands ; cancer of the breast.

Respiratory Organs.

Violent cough, with irregular respiration, at times too slow at times
too rapid ; barking cough, with burning pain in the sternum and
stitches in both sides of the lungs.
Sharp stitch in the heart, from within to without.

Back and Neck.

Moist eruption in the neck, extending into the head.
[70] Pain in the small of the back, as
if broken, with tension ; worse when stooping.

Extremities.


Upper. Swelling and induration of the
axillary glands.
The hands feel as if they were too large ; they are dry and hot.
Spreading blisters on the swollen hands and fingers, aggravated by old
water.
Arthritic nodosities in the finger-joints.
[75] Lower.
Dry, scaly tetter on the legs.
Itching of the toes and perspiration between them.

Generalities.

Great emaciation.
Twitching of the muscles.
Great debility and weakness (3-5 P.M.).

Sleep.

[80] Sleepiness during the day
(morning).
Restless sleep, with toning about and vivid, lascivious dreams ;
profuse perspiration after midnight.

Fever.

Pulse accelerated.
Chilliness with shuddering, followed by perspiration.
Chilliness from being uncovered.
[85] Dry heat, with sensation of
general heat (at night).
Profuse perspiration at night, towards morning, with disinclination to
he uncovered.

Skin.

Painful swelling and induration of the glands.
Ulcers, with tingling, pulsation, burning ; stitches in the edges
when touching them.
Itching over the whole body.
[90] Skin inflamed, red, burning ;
eruption of blisters, which burst and form ulcers.
Moist tetter, itching in the heat of the bed, and after washing.
Painful (not itching) tetter over the whole body ; red and moist
during the increasing moon, pale and dry during the decreasing moon.
Scaly tetter, with thick crusts.
Itching and moist eruptions, with ichorous discharges excoriating the
surrounding parts, with redness, heat and swelling of the skin.

[95] Aggravation
of all skin symptoms by the heat of the bed and from washing.
